Michigan Shakespeare Festival 2010 season open auditions


JACKSON, Mich., April 20, 2010 – The Michigan Shakespeare Festival will be holding open auditions for our 2010 Season featuring Romeo & Juliet and The Comedy of Errors Sunday, April 25, 2010, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Jackson Symphony Orchestra Hall, 215 W Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49201.

Actors wishing to audition will need to prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues no more than 4 minutes length in total (2 minutes per monologue) be prepared to read from sides from the shows for an audition slot, please send a time request to: MSFCasting@aol.com

NOTE: there will be Equity auditions held in Detroit, April 24 from 10-5 pm at the Hilberry Repertory Theatre's Rehearsal Hall, 4th Floor, Old Main.

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is a non-profit professional theater festival founded in 1995. Since its inception the Festival has entertained more than 40,000 people of all ages. In 2003, the Festival’s quality and reputation as a regional classical theatre earned it the designation as “The Official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan” from the Governor and the State Senate. 4 Days notice for Equity auditions? 5 Day notice for open audition? Really? Do they already have the shows cast or do they simply not care about giving an appropriate audition announcement for the "Michigan" Shakespeare Festival?

Actually I just passed the information along when I happened to see it. Perhaps equity information was posted in more targeted places?
