Auditions March 9, 10 for "A Festival of One-Acts" at Sauk Theatre
JONESVILLE — Audition dates have been set for "A Festival of One-Acts" at The Sauk, Hillsdale County’s Community Theatre.
Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10 at the Sauk Theatre, 240 E. Chicago St., Jonesville. Auditions are open to anyone age 8 and up. No experience is necessary. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. The production needs approximately 30 actors. Rehearsals will begin on March 16. Performances are April 30-May 3.
The production will include a variety of short plays including both comedy and drama. Among the selections are two short plays by longtime Sauk volunteer Bud Vear and a world premiere production written for the Sauk by G.M. (Bud) Thompson, who wrote last year's "Running Away."
The one-acts being produced are: - "Pity the Fool" by D.M. Larson, directed by Tyler Bennett and Ryan Littley - "A Fish Tale" by J. Scott Bronson, directed by Cheryl Showalter - "The Annual Check Up," written and directed by Bud Vear - "Where No Stain Has Gone Before" by Jeffrey Conolly, directed by Tim Ambrose - "Cleveland Waits" by Greg Vovos, directed by Mark Pedrick - "276" by G.M. (Bud) Thompson, directed by MJ Dulmage - "I Can't Think of It Right Now" by Nick Zagone, directed by Jennifer Wagler - "Family Vacation (Before Cellphones) by Bud Vear, directed by Naomi Hendrickson - "The Case of the Really Big Dog of the Baskervilles: A Justin Thyme Mystery" by Bruce Kane, directed by Kristin Hood.
