Set in Victorian England and based on legends that may (or may not) be true, SWEENEY TODD tells the story of a man just released from jail for a crime he did not commit. Bent on revenge on those responsible and for losing his wife and child, he takes up with his scheming neighbor and becomes the “Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” in a delicious plot to slice their way through London’s upper crust. Justice will be served—along with lush melody, audacious and macabre humor and bloody good thrills. A tasty feast of diabolical fun – just in time for Hallowe’en!

In the spirit of Hallowe’en and all things gruesome, SWEENEY TODD does have adult themes and is not intended for all audiences.

SWEENEY TODD opened on Broadway in 1979 and won 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Stephen Sondheim composed the razor-sharp score and his brilliant lyrics are alternately gleeful and gruesome.

SWEENEY TODD is co-directed by Ann Holt and Matt Davis. Musical Direction by Elena Beasley and Sherra Zuck. Additional staff includes Chuck Thor-Stage Manager, Amanda Mahoney-Light Design, Christopher Fultz-Set Design and lidija Fremeau-Publicity.

THE CAST (who also provides moments of musical accompaniment) Roxanne Bruner (Beadle Bamford/bass clarinet), Matt Davis (Sweeney Todd/tuba), Sara Davis (Ensemble/clarinet and flute), Christopher Fultz (Tobias/percussion), Mary Krzesicki (Ensemble), Lori Pelham (Beggar Woman/triangle), Mike Reed (Judge Turpin/percussion), Timm Richardson (Pirelli/accordion), Dusty Salyer (Anthony/percussion), Sandy Sykes (Mrs. Lovett/flute) and Francesca Vitali (Johanna/percussion).
